Yesterday we looked at Psalm 111:10 and discussed the fear of the Lord. It is the fear of the Lord that is the beginning of wisdom. When we know God for who He truly is we can't help but be afraid of His mighty power and glory. It is not until we know God in this way that we can truly praise Him. When we finally realize how great our God is, we will realize that He above all things deserves our praise. Today's verses can be found in Psalm 135:3-7.
3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
sing to his name, for it is pleasant! ◙
4 For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself,
Israel as his own possession.
5 For I know that the Lord is great,
and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatever the Lord pleases, he does,
in heaven and on earth,
in the seas and all deeps.
7 He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth,
who makes lightnings for the rain
and brings forth the wind from his storehouses.
Today's application is simple. Praise God for how great He is.
